"I´d very much like to thank you for your super service. The studio is running now for 3 weeks and is working perfectly. The acoustics is extremely precise and sounds exactly the way I hoped it would do."
Fredrik Andersson, Drummer, Amon Amarth, Norway

"I am the drummer in the Swedish metal band Amon Amarth, and lately I have experienced problems with too much low-end in live situations. When looking for different solutions I found out about the HOFA Basstraps. I put one Baby Basstrap next to my Drumset which I also use as a stand for different equipment, I also put a couple of Baby Basstraps underneath my drum riser too to prevent low-end to build up where I sit.
The Basstraps work very well!
Cheers
/Fredrik"

"Shortly after the relocation of our studio the question about the new acoustics in the listening- and recording rooms came up. We were searching for a modular system which would enable us to flexibly react to different recording situations. HOFA acoustic modules provided the perfect solution for us.
Our team is very happy with the modules' sonic quality. We can nothing but recommend the HOFA modules.
Thanks a lot for the very helpful planning and consultation during the preliminary stages.
Best,
Jürgen Hofmann"

Asger Christensen, Aarhus Lydstudios, Aarhus, Dänemark

"For a long time here at Aarhus Lydstudie (Aarhus Sound Studio), we've been looking for a professional, affordable and beautiful acoustic solution for our main tracking room. We found that with the HOFA-Diffusor! We now have 20 HOFA-Diffusors and love how our room sounds bigger and better."
Andreas Peter Zweibrücken
"I would like to give you a positive feedback about your bass traps.
Several of them are now in my classrooms and in my studio.
They´re very flexible and improve the acoustics noticeably.
In time I´m going to buy some more.
Alex Wende, Producer /studio management Hansa Tonstudios Berlin

"Here in the Hansa Recording Studios we mind the high quality of our equipment. That´s exactly what we found with HOFA-Akustik."

Jochen Sachse, Regie B, HOFA-Studios, Karlsdorf

The mouse was to blame.
For four years I was reasonably happy with a hybrid acoustic setup consisting of a suspended ceiling with multiple layers of Basotect and about 30 HOFA-acoustic modules. Then a little mouse died somewhere in the ceiling, untraceable between the layers of Basotect. Anyone who does not know how that smells can be considered lucky.
As I was only "reasonably" satisfied with the setting in Controlroom B, I decided to redesign the acoustic setup in order to be much more flexible. This is due to the fact, that I prefer recording in the Controlroom and use our recording rooms only for the big stuff like drums or bigbands.
So, why preach wine and drink water?
About 35 frames, 50 absorbers, 20 diffusors and 16 basstraps later, my "acoustic world" was as right as rain. Finally I had what I wanted: a perfekt link of midrange and high end via well dosed high mid frequencies.
For mixing I use the same setup as for vocal recordings. When recording guitars or percussion I simply replace 5 or 6 absorbers with diffusors. So I get euphonic recordings with the right ambience and scarcely use EQ or FX.

A few words of advice:
- Horizontally installed frames are more practical, because modules can be changed seperately. With vertically installed frames you always have to remove the module on top first.
- Horizontally installed frames offer more useful "shelf-space".
- When your place your bits and pieces like adapters, tools or picks on those "shelves" they are always at hand.

"Kudos for your acoustic modules! The basement room where I´m currently recording and mixing, is - as so often - far from being perfectly suited for this purpose. The size of 18m2 is somehow okay, but the very low ceiling height of 2.05 m is acoustically problematic.
The enormous change that results from the combination of bass traps, absorbers and diffusers was noticed immediately by musicians and laymen alike and makes the room sound more manageable. Recording a speaker, the basstraps make the acoustics nice and dry, for strings and guitar the diffusors make it "airy". And most importantly - always overlooking the narrow home recording budget - you remain flexible! Whether you use the HOFA-Frames on the wall or - as you can see on the picture - with a homemade "Change Wall", you can use the modules for different purposes and effect the sound specifically according to your needs - what more could you want?
With any luck I may soon move my "studio" in larger spaces. Then the modules are still valuable, because not every room has to be set up completely, but a basic configuration of modules and frames can be used depending on the purpose - great idea! Sure, for a drastic effect you need some modules and in total it´s not inexpensive - but for me it was worth every cent."
Mark Schwarzmayr, Musician and Producer

"I consider acoustics an often underestimated topic. You´d rather think of using another plugin to improve your recordings. If you ask users for their planning and budgets for room acoustic measures it often ends in egg cartons or pyramid foam.
The modular concept convinced me completely. A soundwall is built quickly with eight basstraps. With just little effort the basstraps are placed in the corners and the room´s ready for drum recordings. You can also use them as laptop or preamp-stands - the elegant black pillars are more than only absorbers.
The money I put in the acoustics, I could hear immediately during my next recordings."
Ralf Haas, The Convertibles, Luxemburg
"After our rehearsal/recording room was done, we found after the first band practice that it was far from being acoustically optimal. On the internet we came across HOFA-Akustik.
After a free consultation with Mr. Sachse, we put some bass traps in the corners, what eliminated the endless reverberation. Speech intelligibility, however, left something to be desired, what we could improve using 6 HOFA frames with diffusors.
The advice was perfect and the acoustic modules are effective and cost-efficient."
Boris Brejcha

"I purchased the HOFA acoustic modules, because my small studio room (3x3 meters) is pretty empty and music is played back with a lot of ambience. Hearing and evalutating music was very difficult.
I also found both value for money and design very attractive.

"I have been careless of my studio-acoustics for a long time. I think, everybody knows the notion of buying a 1000€ mike or a fancy tube compressor and getting some real and concrete value.
That´s what I did and worked for years in rooms with nasty pyramid foam, that absorbed high frequencies but made the room sound very unbalanced. But man is a creature of habit and I continued adding high frequencies to my tracks....
One day I decided to repaint the walls, and the idea of installing the hideous foam again was agonizing.
So I looked for a top-quality acoustic solution and came across HOFA, a small likable company offering high-quality modules at a reasonable price. All staff members were extremely friendly and patient and helped me a lot to find the right selection of modules.
You´ll find no diffusors with a better value for money. The modules are wrought immaculate and look beautiful. In combination with the absorbers and basstraps you can "save" any room.
I installed the modules and was really stunned by the difference. All audible flutter echoes are gone, the room sounds "tight" and both open and natural. I feel much more comfortable than before, because the whole thing looks fantastic on top.
I think, that´s the real difference - never forget, that you also hear with your eyes:-)."

Aiko Rohd (Produzent/Komponist für Xavier Naidoo, Yvonne Catterfeld, Vicky Leandros, Karel Gott uva.)

"The acoustic modules from HOFA offer great quality at a very fair price. Combining absorbers and diffusers the acoustics in my already good sounding room improved significantly.
Because of their easy installation the modules are also very flexible. In case of renovation or relocation they are really easy to remove and transport. Awesome system, fair price and good service. What more could you want? "
Sven Krause www.MIRRORS-OF-LIFE.de

"... I pimarily trusted your competence and your know-how and am really happy with the results. You also made a "remote diagnosis" of the room..."
Sascha Arnold

"I have several HOFA-absorbers, -diffusers and -bass traps in use.
Since then, the sound in my control room has improved noticeably. Finally, real mixing is possible.
I can only recommend that you buget some money for room acoustics. With HOFA acoustic modules you get true value for money. Using the HOFA frames, you remain flexible till you found the ideal position for the various modules.
A great idea!!
